The large-scale operations of Twence (285 hectares)—located where the city meets the countryside—need to blend in with the beautiful nature of Twente. The landscaping plans I make with that in mind, the consultations I have with people in the surrounding area, and the realisation of the plans for planting all kinds of trees and shrubs—those are some of the things that give me great satisfaction in my work. Moreover, maintaining the sites by means of sheep and cattle grazing, by mowing and haymaking in the flowery meadows and with “natural” forest management provides a perfect opportunity for making this a beautiful place, also for visitors and customers.
And when you realise how your own company is turning the “waste” of society into products that are both useful and safe, while sparing the environment at the same time, you get the feeling that you are doing something positive for yourself and for the community.
